- Malachi 1 God's love questioned, and worship gone lazy
- Malachi 2-4 Malachi ministered to a discouraged, spiritually weary post-exilic Judah. The temple had been rebuilt, but disillusionment had settled in — worship had gone through the motions, marriages were breaking down, and people were quietly asking whether God even noticed the difference between the faithful and the faithless. Chapters 2 through 4 answer that question directly, and the answer is both a warning and a promise.
- Zechariah 1-2 Return to Me, and I Will Return to You
- Zechariah 10 Zechariah 10 continues the theme of hope and restoration. After introducing the coming King in chapter 9, God now speaks about His care for His people as their true Shepherd. The chapter contrasts false leaders who fail the people with the Lord, who gathers, strengthens, and restores His flock.
- Zechariah 11 Zechariah 11 is one of the most sobering chapters in the book. After the promises of restoration in chapters 9–10, chapter 11 warns of what happens when God’s shepherd is rejected. It points both to Israel’s unfaithful leaders and prophetically to the rejection of the Messiah.
- Zechariah 12-14 These last three chapters are one long oracle about a day that has not fully come, and they move in a strange order.
- Zechariah 3-6 These chapters contain some of the most hope-filled visions in the Old Testament. They reveal God’s grace, His empowering Spirit, the coming Messiah, and His promise to establish His righteous kingdom.
- Zechariah 7-8 Zechariah 7–8 marks a shift from visions to practical living. The people asked a religious question, but God responded by addressing the condition of their hearts.
- Zechariah 9 Zechariah 9 begins with God’s judgment on the surrounding nations but ends with one of the Bible’s most famous prophecies about the coming Messiah. The chapter reminds us that although kingdoms rise and fall, God remains in control and faithfully keeps His promises.
